Synopsis: POSCO-India is reworking its R&R package to make it more acceptable and people-oriented. The package is expected to be announced by the month-end in consultation with the State Govt. officials. The Company is working out the market cost of 10 decimal land and house for the oustees, who would not like to stay in the rehabilitation colony.

The Company has proposed 10 decimal land, a house in the rehabilitation colony or compensation and assistance to the displaced families in line with the R&R Policy of the Orissa Govt. Displaced families from the Govt. land will also be provided houses in the rehabilitation colony. One nominated member of each projected affected family will be engaged in the construction job through the contractor. The job will be mandated y suitable provisions in the contracts.

It is also exploring the possibility of providing jobs to one nominated member if each displaced family and 100% land losing family. The company proposes to train them to make them employable.
