Synopsis: POSCO-India CMD, Mr. Soung-Sik Cho has made it clear that the Company would not start construction of its project unless the company is given total possession of the forest land. Mr. Cho said, “We are quite optimistic about the fruition of our project. The State Govt. has recommended POSCO-India’s name to the Union Govt. for issue of prospective ML.”

Mr. Cho called on the CM at the State Secretariat and assured him that the worldwide economic slowdown will not affect the upcoming project at Paradeep.

Earlier, the Company officials had stated that the construction work will be started on non-forest Govt. land. But after the discussion with the Govt. officials they have changed their views.
