Synopsis: Addressing the valedictory of Zilla Utav at Jagatsinghpur, Mr. Pyarimohan Mohapatra, BJP MP has said, “The state will suffer and we will lose mega projects like POSCO to other states like Gujarat, if we continue to be narrow minded and oppose development only for political gain.”

He urged all sections to unite for development of the district and the state. “Sit together and convince the few who are opposing projects like POSCO steel plant,” he said before sounding a word of caution that persistent protests may prompt POSCO to shift to another state.

Significantly, Mr. Mohapatra had not made such public statements on POSCO till date.
